From the fearless fighters like Marsha P Johnson who marched for us, to my volleyball coach in the suburbs of Dallas for inviting her girlfriend to our games. Every day for this community is history in the making. It’s only been 5 years since gay marriage was legalized in the US, a right that is now at jeopardy. I am #trulyproud to partner with @Truly on this campaign, and grateful for brands who recognize this community year round.. not just during June. I have made a commitment to documenting this community and our history in all the big and small ways that I can. From music videos for queer artists, to taking photos of my roommate and her girlfriend. I think it all matters. We are living through LGBTQ+ history and we are the ones who can change the future.
