De Beers has made a commitment to creating a positive legacy that will endure far beyond the discovery of their last diamond – this commitment is called #BuildingForever. Last year, De Beers invited five talented and sustainably-minded female designers (@zoechiccojewelry, @jadetrau, @jenniekwondesigns, @julezbryant, and @saraweinstock) to visit their operations in Botswana to find out more about Building Forever and the positive impacts that diamonds create. The designers, inspired by what they witnessed, wanted to contribute to the good that diamonds do and decided that, through the ReSet Collective, they will each create one-off jewelry pendants that will be available at auction. The proceeds will go to @SSIIntl and @naacp_ldf. While I have always loved the beauty of diamonds, I’ve decided to partner with De Beers because I admire their ReSet Collective initiative for showcasing how diamonds can be more than just a source of beauty. The Botswanan government is a partner with De Beers in their local operations, keeping much of the positive impacts of their diamonds local; the auctioned items will further contribute to communities in Botswana, as well as helping to support diversity further afield.
