It’s not a video from the day we found out we were pregnant, or the day we weren’t anymore...it’s a video from February 2016, on the day we recorded strings for Thy Will—@emilyweisband @bernieherms and I wrote it in the midst of some of my deepest pain when we lost our 2nd pregnancy in 2015. I’ll never forget the steady stream of tears as I recorded this—just five months after our loss, and feeling overwhelmed with how the string section was playing-every note and every move seemed to be crying along with me. It washed over me in a way that helped me take another step towards healing—feeling even the tiniest bit of purpose in the pain. Grief is so sharp sometimes. It cuts in a way that steals your breath, your hope, and some days your ability to even want to get out of bed. It’s been 5 years since our loss. Some years this day goes by with only a tinge of heartache—with three busy, beautiful, healthy daughters surrounding me I have much to be thankful for and preoccupied by. But today was hard.
