Trees with beautiful leaves of all colors cover the landscapes and rolling hills of the Blue Ridge, Shenandoah, and Appalachian Mountains. Some of my favorite hikes and fall activities in Virginia by region include: SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA: - Dragons Tooth (4 mile trail along the Appalachian Trail with an awesome rock scramble at the end) -MY FAV: McAfee Knob (popular 8 mile trail known for being the most photographed spot on the Appalachian Trail with an epic ledge at the peak. Pro tip: this hike at sunrise is AMAZING) 🌄 - Cascades Falls (easy 4 mile trail in with a beautiful waterfall at the end) PICTURED: Bald Knob at Mountain Lake Lodge (1 mile loop, The Mountain View’s for sunset are amazing. Pro tip: don’t go for sunrise, it’s on the opposite side of the mountain 🙈) - Devil’s Marbleyard (rock scrambles with amazing rolling mountain view’s, just a mile to the bottom of the scramble but if you’re adventurous; scramble to the top. It’s amazing) NORTHERN VIRGINIA: - Old Rag Mountain (I’ve done this 10 mile loop maybe 30 times in my life, a classic) ⛰ - Great Falls (A classic Northern Virginia nature spot with amazing waterfalls) -Scott’s Run Nature Preserve (easy hike to a waterfall, extremely popular and crowded) - driving through Shenandoah Valley and Shenandoah National Park 🍁 - Cox Farms Fall Festival 🎃 (the best apple cider in the world) Nearby: -Harper’s Ferry, WV Planning to do any of these fall hikes?!
