There is a cliché term, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” From my experience of looking through hundreds and hundreds of photos for this book, I will say, yes, it is true.⁣ ⠀⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ I will also add, playing off the lyrics from the song “Get Up Stand Up,” that the half of the story that has never been told will be told by photographs now even more than before.⁣ ⠀⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ The photographs I have selected were taken between 1976 and 1980. I chose them all with the idea of treating you not only as an admirer of the icon, the legend, the musician, and his message, but also as a friend of the man, the human being, the Tuff Gong.⁣ ⠀⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ There is so much more to Daddy, Bob Marley. It keeps going deeper and deeper, higher and higher. The more you discover, the more you feel, until it becomes a part of you. You think it’s the end, but it’s just the beginning.⁣ ⠀⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Compiling these photographs brought back a lot of memories from my childhood and offered me new awareness and thoughts about my father that honestly now make me feel even more connected to him. That’s crazy!
