It’s been really cool to see how things change and songs take on their shape over the course of writing a record. You could say I feel pretty close since I’m there as it’s happening. With this latest record I have never seen him push things so far. Starting it before he was diagnosed with cancer, working on it through the treatments, and finishing it as he is cured and in remission. These are again among some of the heaviest, most technical and melodic songs I have heard in quite some time. Every album of his during a difficult time has always proven to be a great one. The passion is still there. With the new combination of Kiko and Dirk these guys have brought a lot of great ideas and creativity on the new songs.
