Today for #IndigenousPeoplesDay, I’d like to spotlight this “The Black Hills are Not For Sale” image I created in 2011 in collaboration with photographer Aaron Huey @argonautphoto, in support of @amplifierart’s efforts to educate the public about Native American Treaty rights. Aaron Huey spent seven years documenting the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Please check out Aaron’s 2010 TED Talk on the Lakota and their fight to get back the Black Hills of South Dakota through my bio link. The American public needs to know about the issues that face the Lakota and every indigenous tribe in the US. Native people are still here and demand to be heard.
