I think it’s important to acknowledge days like this, it’s important that we talk about our minds and all their wonkiness, it’s important that we take away the shame for people who haven’t yet been able to say “I’m not alright.” I’m glad that there are more awareness weeks and conversations now. In its own way 2020 has been a real spotlight on mental health - people who’ve never before struggled have suddenly been stuck at home with their thoughts, or realised what anxiety feels like. It should have taught us more empathy. But I feel like I’ve already said this? Has anything changed since the last awareness event? We know by now that we need to talk, it’s still not easy for everyone, but we know. What we mostly don’t know, yet, is exactly why people suffer in the first place. If 2020 is a year of embracing that mental health issues exist, and sympathising with them, can the following years please be more full of research and funding, of science and closure and understanding? Wouldn’t that be great?」10月11日 2時01分 - gemmastyles
