It was a true turning point in my career and taught me what the embodiment of a role really meant. I’ve never been to an acting school but for this one I went to truck-driving school to get my Class A driver’s license. I remember vividly walking into that room and a man standing there said, “You don’t look like a truck driver,” and I looked him square in the eye and said, "Well, mister, I’m gonna be one.” And I was. I proudly drove that 18-wheeler, double clutch, 53 foot trailer, up and down the Grapevine, Interstate 10, and even paralleled parked that puppy. I went on short hauls with women truck drivers and they shared with me their passion for being on the road in a male-dominated world and the fears and traumas that went along with it. The experience irrevocably changed me as person and taught me what it truly meant "to put myself in someone else’s shoes". I’m forever grateful for these experiences and all the people along the way who challenge, fulfill and shape me in the most meaningful of ways. And goodness, how I love my job!!! 🥰 (And thanks to my dear friend at @NatMoar for the lovely reminder this Saturday morning)」10月11日 0時41分 - michellemonaghan
