On Monday afternoon Netflix shocked fans of the beloved series GLOW with news that it would no longer produce a fourth and final season, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. GLOW premiered in 2017 to rave reviews that praised its complicated female characters and their tricky relationships with one another, particularly between Debbie "Liberty Belle" Eagan and Ruth "Zoya the Destroya" Wilder (played by Betty Gilpin and Alison Brie, respectively), which was left unresolved in the show’s season three cliff-hanger finale. Netflix reportedly wouldn’t have been able to debut the fourth season until 2022—the show’s devoted fans, however, indicated that they would have happily waited, rather than not getting another season at all.
