The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offered to help the White House with contact tracing almost immediately after President Trump made public that he had contracted coronavirus. Despite the concerns expressed by those at the CDC, including agency Director Dr. Robert Redfield, officials at the White House turned down the CDC's offer to help, the official said. The offer was repeated in a phone call Monday, according to a source. USA Today first reported the rebuffed offer.
