Let’s pretend that you get kumiko stock magically milled to the correct thickness, and the frame notches are cut. If that’s true, then this is it: some guide blocks, a sharp pencil, a wide chisel (I love my 1 in. bench chisel from @lienielsentoolworks. The 1 in. Stanley sweetheart is good. I also really like my 1 1/4 in. wide PM-V11 butt chisel from @veritastools.), and a good dozuki with very fine teeth. Personally, I use the 8 in. ultra fine tooth dozuki sold by @suizan_japan on Amazon.
