This Saturday, October 3, we join @forfreedoms and @wideawakes2020 for #WideAwakesDay, a global participatory event on the 160th anniversary of the Wide Awakes Grand Procession for emancipation. On October 3, 1860, the Wide Awakes held massive torchlight parades around the country—in New York, Chicago, Boston, and Cleveland—banding together to champion the election of Abraham Lincoln in support of abolition.
