Aptly named after the Japanese concept for finding serenity amidst life’s chaos, the biomorphic volumes of the ‘Seijaku’ collection draw inspiration from the study of cymatics, which visualises sound waves as evolving patterns. To provide a seamless experience between the looks and concept of the show, Van Herpen collaborated with Japanese artist @KazuyaNagaya and sound artist @Sssalvadorrr on a Zen bowl installation specifically designed for the l’Oratoire du Louvre.
