With Paris Fashion Week following a digital format for SS21, we spoke to @rickowensonline about his upcoming collection. Ever the envelope-pusher, this audience-less show took place not in Paris, nor France, but in Venice, Italy, in the piazza which lies in front of the Lido Casino, a place which Owens walks by, and enjoys, every day on his way to the beach throughout summer. ‘Seaside stoicism’ is how he’d describe the show, which sees oversized tailoring, sculpted capes, pop-colour boots, and jackets and shorts that can be easily transformed – shorts into belts and jackets with straps to be easily stripped off and cinched.
