In addition to the public art exhibition, two of Ai's documentary films - Coronation (2020) and Vivos (2019) - are included during the film festival as a special presentation on 10 October. Ai's planned public artwork is related to the ongoing refugee crisis. The work consists of eight rubber dinghies installed on the facade of the Sony Center IMAX cinema. An agreement was reached regarding the technical feasibility and the installation was planned to commence on 1 October. On the morning of 1 October, Ai Weiwei Studio was informed by the film festival that the owners of Sony Center, Oxford Properties, are not granting approval for the project, without clear explanation, and so the project has been cancelled.」10月1日 20時52分
