We Wore Whatさんのインスタグラム写真 - (We Wore WhatInstagram)「Lavender 💜 So much goes into these swim collections and I wanted to take a moment to explain the design process to you guys, which happens a FULL YEAR in advance. A 3am idea pops into my head for a theme (boudoir collection), and from it we begin.. I flip through my Pantone color book for hours, tearing out my favorites and putting it all together with a mood board. From there I meet with my design team which consists of technical designers, art designers, fit experts, fabric sourcing, CAD specialists, and more.. we pull all our previous shapes and decide how we want to update them and discuss new styles to add. We review customer feedback to see what we are missing (ie: skimpier bottoms and more bust coverage). From there the CAD designer starts to put our ideas into action, while the new fabrics get sourced, and lab dips of our new core colors begin. My incredible art designer presents dozens of options for all of my print ideas and we sit together meticulously going through the details of every print. There are several rounds of iterations until the prints are perfect and we go into “strike offs” to receive small swatch samples. Then we begin fittings on available color fabric with our experienced fit model and then the team creates tech packs for our production. Once we have finalized prints and shapes, we CAD all the prints in all color and style options. I sit with the hundreds of little cutouts and choose which suits I want to actually go into production on (this part is how we make it look like a fully merchandised collection). We put all my selects together on a line sheet and make edits. I want everyone’s opinions and input, always. Showroom samples come next which is what we show to buyers, we make last minute changes and any cuts or additions. From there we get PP samples (pre-production) for final final approval! I sit with my business partners and actually plan the buy too. I pick the pieces I think I will wear most but will also popular based on current trends, and we buy the most quantity of those. It’s predictions at best but based off retail math and past sales. [continued in comments]」9月29日 22時15分 - weworewhat
