I can’t pinpoint what this lesson is exactly. Something about identification and possession. Something about buying time. As I empty the bags and touch the moss, and the leaves, and the twigs, and the berries, and a robin-blue eggshell, I consider how much we depend on useless, arbitrary tasks to prove ourselves. A year of so much change, it’s impossible not to change and grow along with it, and my palette has very much been and is continuing to change too. Simplifying more and holding out for substantial sustenance over shiny morsels that hold no real bearing or meaning. Nourish & flourish were my words this year, and indeed they have made their way, just not at all as I expected, and thank heavens for that. 🌾 . . . A new week and the precipice of a new month.
