I’d like to think some of your last thoughts were about chasing Bema down in heaven, and saying things to yourself like “let’s blow this cesspool of a culture”. Some of my favorite memories with you (and I have hundreds) were when I was 9 or 10 and went up to Montana with you 3 weeks before anyone else got there. I remember our road trip up there so clearly. You made me promise that I would let you pick my husband. I remember bringing up that I had to marry who I fell in love with, and I think after negotiations we determined that I could provide 2 or 3 options, but you had final say. I keep thinking about that promise lately. Gramps, you better hustle for me up there and send me someone good! When we went to the grocery store, you told me to put anything I wanted in the cart. I was not the kid to push my limits with that sort of a thing, but if I even glanced at something you would say “WELL THROW IT IN!” and would usually grab two of them. Every time I would walk into a room you would sing “Daisy, Daisy, I’m half crazy.. over the likes of you!” Or “oh my darling Clementine” Gramps I’m gonna miss you like crazy, but I will always feel close to you seeing the sunrise or watching an old western movie. Or when I’m driving around LA and remembering all of your epic stories about being a staff photographer for the LA times. And I’ll probably always finish a memory like that with your voice in my head saying “I’m okay, the worlds all wrong!” I love you. Thank you.」9月27日 20時24分 - daisyclementine
