Yesterday I was honoured to speak to someone who continues to be a huge influence on me and across the world. Patrisse Cullors (@osopepatrisse) is co-founder of the #BlackLivesMatter movement the largest protest movement in the US. Patrisse recently graced the cover of Time magazine, topping the list of the 100 Most Influential People of 2020. She is a truly amazing individual.

We talked about The Breathe Act, a critical piece of civil rights legislation; what the term ‘defund the police’ actually means; and about Patrisse’s new version of her memoir, When They Call You A Terrorist, that she describes as a ‘love letter’ to activism.

It was a conversation that I will remember for a long time and I am very grateful to Patrisse for giving up her precious time.
