Tucked away, east of Kusatsu and the Karasuma Peninsula is the Mizunomori Water Botanical Garden. From Lake Biwa, just next door to the garden, you can see gorgeous views of the lotus fields in bloom during the summer. These hearty flowers are revered in Japan for their ability to rise from the murky, muddy waters to bloom into a beautiful flower, representing the process of obtaining enlightenment 🏵️
