Throughout #hispanicheritagemonth, we’ll be celebrating some of the #USMNT’s many #HispanicHeroes. Today we recognize 𝐏𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐞𝐧𝐢.

Born in 🇦🇷, Pablo gained his 🇺🇸 citizenship in 2001, and made his debut shortly thereafter that year on June 7 vs. 🇪🇨. Following the match he said, "This is like a dream come true. I always wanted to wear the colors of the National Team and it's amazing that it happened so quickly."

Exactly 363 days later - and after helping the #USMNT lift the 2002 @goldcup - Pablo started the USA’s 3-2 win vs. 🇵🇹 to open the 2002 @FIFAワールドカップ. He would be key in the team's historic run to the quarterfinals in 🇰🇷.

A relentless central midfielder, Pablo played in a second World Cup in 2006, and helped the USA capture two more Gold Cup titles in 2005 and 2007. He amassed 65 caps from 2001-2009 and captained the side five times -- twice in #WCQ matches.
