THE THING WE LEARNED... .sliding barn doors are great as they don’t trap little fingers but, you do need a lot of wall to accommodate them. We raised the height of the doors (no idea why I am 5ft 3 and he’s 6 ft.. we just wanted higher doors. But, that meant we had to get specially made barn doors, which our joiner Michael Jennings and his gang, did a stunning job of, and then sprayed the rails and bolts to match the sockets. He’s a legend! Beware, bespoke can sometimes mean more expensive.
