These people have finished their sentences and paroles, and after years in prison are now forced to pay court fees etc in order to vote. I don’t think permanent disenfranchisement (especially given what we know about who gets arrested and convicted) is constitutional, or ethically right. I understand the Supreme Court has found otherwise, and I understand decisions to come will be based on that precedent. But that doesn’t mean I have to agree.
