Photo by @francescolastrucci / A few years back I was photographing a community of fishermen in Portopalo di Capo Passero in the southernmost tip of Sicily, where the Ionian and Mediterranean Seas meet. This old fisherman was hiding from the harsh heat of July’s late mornings. When I asked him why he still continued to work despite his age, he got back to me with a gentle smile: “I feel relaxed and complete only when I mend the nets.”
