It’s World Green Building Week, and communities across the globe are stepping up to make their buildings even greener and more sustainable. At Herman Miller, we’re proud of our heritage of environmental stewardship, including our founding membership of the United States Green Building Council, which developed the LEED certification guidelines. Our GreenHouse facility in Holland, Michigan (shown here) earned a LEED Pioneer building award and is where we make most of our North American office chairs. Today, our global buildings run on 100 percent renewable electrical energy, and our largest manufacturing facility, which accounts for a quarter of our global energy consumption, is supplied by 100 percent renewable wind energy.
