And it was a truly fitting one. The @artschool_london show took place a few weeks ago (before group gatherings had been reduced to 6) in Waterlow Park, with about five guests in attendance - 1m apart of course

“I wanted to do something of worth, something big because I don’t know what’s going to happen in the next few months,” said @eden_loweth who has forged ahead solo with his brand, cathartically working through Covid and personal life changes and creating a collection entitled “Therapy”

“I come from a background where I shouldn’t succeed,” said Loweth and so it was that the cast was a cohort of truly diverse characters, not just representative of Art School’s LGBTQ+ community but going beyond. Familiar faces to me like @mimmav and @cozettemc and unfamiliar ones like amputee Damian from a specialist talent agency, who prior to show said to Loweth, “Life only stops when you stop trying.”

Loweth honed in on razor sharp tailoring and slick stiffened leathers, shrouding his cast in hues of military green, blues and inky black. Art School’s signature silk bias cut dresses softened the edges but mostly the clothes stomped, to a rousing performance by @celeste

Loweth along with the likes of @_charlesjeffrey @supriya_lele @charlotteknowleslondon - London’s young young gen have been speaking frequently, determined to create a new triumphant wave of London designers, like the Roksanda, Kane and Erdem generation before them.

“Together we have the ability to reshape fashion.” That previous golden generation of LFW designers had it easier in a way compared to Loweth and his peers. As we contemplate a second lockdown, the challenges ahead are even more daunting. But if the tenacity shown on that long stretch of park pathway, is anything to go by, then we’ve got to be hopeful. In fact, it’s imperative. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
