We mourn the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a trailblazer who in 1993 became the second woman ever to serve on the United States Supreme Court. When she enrolled in Harvard Law School in 1956, she was one of nine women in a class of more than 500. She made significant advancements for women under the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution, and she also co-founded the ACLU's Women's Rights Project. As we reflect on the incredible legacy she has left behind, we celebrate her tenacity and her steadfast commitment to gender equality and women’s rights. We are also reminded of our own responsibility to advocate for human rights, and we are strengthened in our resolve to carry her legacy forward — and to vote. May you rest in peace #RBG
