I fell in love with America when I was ten, that’s me in the pic being told I was going tomorrow...
When I got there, in July 1979, I stood in the middle of New York City & couldn’t believe what I was seeing or hearing.
From dead end English cul-de-sacs to Times Square, the biggest, most amazing thing I’d ever seen.
The greatest crossroads in the world, you could go here, there and everywhere, it felt like anything was possible.
Well that stuck, because I’ve spent much of my adult life living in America & I still love it.
I’ve lived on the east coast, the west coast & travelled all over this amazing country. Everywhere I go I meet good, decent, big hearted Americans, but WHAT is going on right now?
Once again I can’t believe what I’m seeing or hearing.
Were there really Boos at that NFL game the other night?
For a show of unity ?
Has America driven itself down some kind of mental cul de sac?
