Today is the start of Latinx Heritage Month. For the next 30 days, Vevo will celebrate this vibrant and diverse culture by spotlighting the biggest stars from North, Central and South America as well as the Caribbean.

This observance is traditionally known as Hispanic Heritage Month. However, “Hispanic” can be a limiting term referencing only Spanish-speaking people. At Vevo, we agree that it’s time for an update.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now more than ever, inclusivity must be a focal point; it’s paramount to acknowledge countries such as Brazil, countries that speak their own language but share many cultural elements with the Latin community. It’s also important to recognize the influences rooted in African history and cultures. For this reason, we’re referring to our celebration as Latinx Heritage Month.

In the coming weeks we will honor legendary Latin artists, as well as future chart-toppers and current trendsetters, but most importantly we want to show our appreciation to the fans who are the driving force behind the global impact of Latin music today.
