September is National Suicide Prevention month. This picture is very meaningful to me because I took it the day I found out that someone very close and meaningful to me had committed suicide. The notion that they were in so much pain that they ended their own life was unfathomable. I came home from San Francisco completely depleted, lifeless, and heartbroken. Tux is more of a sit right next to you kind of cat, but that day he came and sat on my chest. I knew he was feeling my pain radiating from my heart. This loss is something that I continue to suffer with. As I write this post, I’m crying knowing the world lost one of the most incredible people. I wish I could have done more, I wish I had the opportunity to really understand the pain he was suffering. I wish I had known and reached out to someone to go check on him.
