California is facing its largest wildfire in recorded history, colorado is embracing its largest fire on record, there’s wide civil unrest and COVID is running ramped. It’s rough times, and environmentally speaking it’s only getting worse and worse if you’re paying actual attention. Further, the sitting president here in the US has dismantled a litany of environmental protection laws, substantially loosened the grip on fossil fuel extraction, backed out of the Paris agreement accord and declared today that he’s a “great environmentalist”. Things sincerely need to change. It’s been said that we’re in a “cold civil war” here in the US, largely due to the country getting its news from such broadly different sources. The results is its splitting the country into 2 factions, each of which stalwartly believes that they‘re on the correct side. My best advice for those of us living in the US, love your countrymen and if you engage in debate be respectful, shouting and insulting is the worst way to exchange ideas, and look for constructive resolve. We did it successfully in the past, it’s truly the way of democracy and we’re so off the rails right now.
