Back in 2011 the kids just sat in a chair next to their moms - nobody actually had to try to out dance one another! There were only 30 families, 27 from my studio, 2 friends of mine, and crappy apple. The show was originally cast as a house wives show based at a dance studio and I wasn’t on it! Wow, how things changed! Never in a million years would some of those OG’s have jumped on a plane and flown across the country with their kids to audition for a TV show... They wouldn’t even drive 5hrs to NYC when I set up auditions for them 🙄. Thousands of kids & their moms applied for the new season! They knew what they were signing up for! There were probably 40 kids at the final final final call back plus Lilly & Elliana. At the end of the day these talented & lucky dancers were the ones left standing. Like any casting there are many variables and with this reality show it’s all about the Mama Drama!
