I took a pause this past week to speak with some past takeover creators and get some notes on what’s working for people and what isn’t. I often dive into things head first and then have to readjust as we go along, so this week I’m editing and shifting as we go. I think it’s good to keep an open heart and mind with any project because sometimes something has to live and breathe a bit before the best version becomes clear. Starting this week, the takeovers will spread out a bit so there is room to breathe (and re-promote past takeovers) between everyone and we are playing around with formats, time lengths and styles to see what feels the most fun and effective for everyone taking over. I’m so excited about the lineup for the next two months (stay tuned for a NYC public art takeover this week!) but today I’d love to know: who do you want to see (just a reminder- these takeovers are about highlighting creatives of color)?
