Rolling your eyes? According to a report by the US Bureau of Economic Analysis the arts contribute $763.6 billion to the US economy—4.2 % of the GDP—which is 4 times as much money added to the country’s economy as agriculture, and $200 billion more than transportation or warehousing.

The arts and culture sector contributes $119.9 billion to New York's economy, representing 7.8% of the state's GDP.

Forbes referred to the Arts as “The great unappreciated engine of the U.S. economy.”

And we do this under constant attack from conservative voices for who we are, what we represent and what we create. Imagine what this sector could do, how many people we could reach, with backing?
