Maybe the reason I feel the way I do about business in America is because both my grandfathers started from scratch. My Papa Don, who is Italian-American, lost his father very early, became the man of his house at 13. My Papa Jack was born in Oklahoma, went into the navy then moved out west with his beloved wife... at a time, if anyone knows history, that was not very popular to be an “Oakie”. BOTH these men DID NOT have it easy being an Italian and the other being from Oklahoma & both created empires from scratch. They instilled work ethic in their children & grandchildren and made it be known that nothing would ever be a free ride & we would have to work for the life we want. If you know my family, you know they are some of the hardest working individuals you will ever meet & this goes straight through to my cousins and second cousins. Small businesses have been impacted so devastatingly by Covid-19. There has been too much misinformation & corruption around this “pandemic” to not question if we are hurting more than we are helping at this point.. People have worked their entire lives to uplift communities with their blood, sweat and tears through labor. Small businesses are the heart of communities, let’s show them how much we appreciate them and help bring them back after this year hit them so hard. 🙏 Here is to a lovely, safe #LaborDay . Here is to taking pride in ourselves, not to be defined by work but to make work fulfill our every dream and the dreams of those around us.
