I consider myself a pretty social person but find myself alone on the water a lot and it’s mostly by choice. There’s something about setting your own course with zero expectations from anyone, including yourself. There’s no distractions, just you and your thoughts. Often times I’ll just sit on my kayak, wont fish, won’t paddle.... I just sit. Thinking and reflecting on a number of things, my kids, family, friends and work. The things I have control over and some that I don’t. As stressful as life can be, in that moment I’m always at peace with myself, I’m relaxed with no worries.
