We may have experienced ups and downs in the classrooms of our past, but I hope some of us can look back fondly on the way educators shaped us. Teachers who made lessons fun, teachers who made difficult learning possible. Those who offered support when support was nowhere to be found, and those who seemed hella strict at the time 🥺, giving us the structure we didn’t realize we needed until it molded us into stronger versions today. And then there was Mr. Hunter, who opened my eyes in 5th grade to new ideas and thinking. He grew the spark I needed to stimulate my curiosity today. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Our society doesn’t always show teachers the appreciation they deserve in terms of compensation or support..or even security of health during this pandemic😔 Most are underpaid and many are in challenging environments. We’re lucky so many great teachers do their important work under those conditions, which is why I had to honor the teacher who greatly impacted my life.. and its the first time we’ve connected after 31 years!!
