Excited to share more Black female excellence courtesy of @wearepushblack! After witnessing racism first-hand in modeling school and recognizing the privilege her white-passing features afforded her, Ophelia DeVore-Mitchell eschewed modeling agencies built on Eurocentric standards of beauty and built her own. She almost single-handedly opened the modeling profession to Black people and launched the careers of many famous and beloved Black entertainers & personalities.
