The global pandemic continues in Hawaii. An employee at our Vineyard location reported to work on Thursday, August 20th in the morning and passed all health screening questions and temperature checks. At a point in their shift, they felt ill with flu-like symptoms, informed their manager, was directed to see a doctor, and then departed work. The employee has not been at work since. The employee did not have direct contact with customers. As a precautionary measure, immediately upon the employee’s departure from work on Thursday, the location performed a heavy sanitation of the facility, as is our standard procedure. Knowing that the symptoms were flu-like, after closing on Thursday night, the location then again underwent a second, even deeper sanitation process of both front and back of house.

On the afternoon of Friday, August 21st, management was informed that the employee tested positive for COVID-19. Because two prior deep sanitations were completed, the location remains open. We wish the affected employee a swift and complete recovery.
