While there, I also got to go hang out with my grandparents from outside their window. The home they live in has taken all the important precautious to keep residents safe, and it makes me feel so relieved knowing they live around and with people who are taking this pandemic seriously. It’s communities like theirs we’ve all been trying to protect. They were in great spirits, cracking jokes and making snappy comments. I loved to see it. Everyone is experiencing this pandemic differently. Instead of focusing on what a group of people are maybe Not doing, I find comfort in the collective efforts I see the people around me making to protect their friends, families, and communities. Now, I think it’s a great time to practice my penmanship, write my grandparents some letters, and mail them off via the wonderful USPS.
