I love dreaming about great tales. Today I posted in IG stories half a script I wrote about budding women’s lib in 1947 and how it was squashed partly by the Fashion world of the time, following WWII and the return of men to all the American jobs women had been doing. When I started writing this in 2011 it was an undiscovered (by Hollywood) time in history and Mad Med was ending soon and I knew we’d need a new period drama for @amc_tv Sunday nights ;) It was the first thing I ever pitched around town. I learned a lot from that experience, and even though the idea got snapped up by someone else and produced elsewhere, I had a helluva lot of fun writing THE SWELL. I revisit it now and then to see if I can finish the script. And sometimes just to spend time with the characters I fell in love with during my research. Anyway, why not share what we create??
