They are also the owners of two apartments in Habitat 67, the Montreal housing complex designed by architect Moshe Safdie, which consists of 354 identical prefabricated-concrete forms. The brothers, in addition to being successful entrepreneurs, have always had a strong desire to give back. “We wanted to create ladders of opportunity,” Dexter says. “Maybe it’s where we are in our lives, getting older. Maybe because we’re twins and we’ve always been super collaborative. But we felt that in the future, the big trend was not competition but cooperation.” And as Black entrepreneurs, they knew from experience that too few openings exist for people of color to get financing and exposure.
