⚠️PLEASE SHARE AS WE MUST GET MORE HELP FOR MAURITIUS!⚠️ Repost from @savethereef Swipe over to see all the devastating videos and photos of the oil spill happening right now in Mauritius as their coastline is now covered in thick black oil, killing all wildlife and marine life in its path and destroying the beaches, mangroves and trees. “We are in an environmental crisis situation,” admitted the environment minister, Kavy Ramano last night, while the fishing minister, Sudheer Maudhoo, said: “This is the first time that we are faced with a catastrophe of this kind and we are insufficiently equipped to handle this problem.” SO LET’S ALL HELP THIS TINY ISLAND NATION! Please share these new videos/photos with your followers, encourage them to share too and tag people, celebrities, influencers and news media who need to see this as we must ALL work together to get them help before any more of their coral reefs, seabirds, rare turtles and other animals are smothered in oil, not to mention the harmful effects for all the people in the area due to the noxious smell from the fuel. Thanks to French President @emmanuelmacron for acknowledging the crisis and sending help from nearby French-owned Reunion island to try to pump out the remaining fuel from the ship, but Mauritius NEEDS MORE HELP as they don’t have the equipment necessary for a full cleanup and every minute more and more oil leaks out, killing all marine life and their reef! Local politicians have now asked the United Nations for more help to contain the damage so we can ALL help too by spreading awareness about this URGENT crisis on our social media platforms to get them more ships, equipment and cleanup experts involved in this massive rescue effort!
