A house for art. Made for a collector and patron of the arts, Villa Mairea has been a house for art from its first sketch. “The collectable art around us, I think made an impression on many of us grand-children” says @johanna_gullichsen_official, textile designer and Maire Gullichsen’s granddaughter. “In the children’s playroom (…) drawings and children’s paintings are on the wall, some of them by me. Sometimes new drawings appear when children staying in the house get inspired and sit down to work at the round table under the round skylight.”
