The Rolling Stones were recording Goats Head Soup in Jamaica’s Dynamic Sounds Studio in November 1972, run by well-known bandleader and producer Byron Lee. The studio had a growing reputation as the Caribbean equivalent of Muscle Shoals studio in Alabama, where the Stones had recorded previously for Sticky Fingers.
