Reposted from @shannonmiller96 This brings me back to every moment of this routine. The sights, sounds and even the silence. I could feel people holding their breath, I tried not to think of how many people were watching. Granted, throughout my career I’ve fallen off the beam more times than I can count. However, there is something very peaceful about being up there. All of the years of training coming together in that 90 second period. Being completely focused on every detail, the placement of each body part, weight distribution, posture. So much has to be muscle memory because there is so much that goes into each step, each skill, each hand movement. For all the young gymnasts, young athletes out there, just remember, it’s less about the day of the competition and much more about how you’ve prepared for the competition. Doing the work always pays off. It might not always be a gold medal, it may not even be in the way you are hoping, but doing the work....always pays off. #goforit #1996 #mag7 #olympics - #repost
