I’ve done some digging to find out the meaning of this challenge and the real reason behind this challenge is because of the awful violence that is happening against women in Turkey right now ! Femicide is a huge issue in Turkey, with 474 women murdered in 2019 and due to coronavirus, 2020 numbers are expected to be even worse. So women in Turkey are said to have began the Black And White Photo Challenge in order to raise awareness of the atrocities Turkish women face.
