I think it's more important than ever to lean on your support system for reassurance and affirmation as well as the resources to explore different avenues you may not have noticed were there before. There's an overgeneralization of Asian Americans and Asians and their contributions to the global entertainment industry as a whole — as if the two groups were interchangeable, when that is so far from the case. As an Asian American artist, my goal is to tell the stories of my community using my own voice, while also finding ways to define the nuance that set it apart from my Asian colleagues, to properly give them accurate information as well.
