1) early 1977: trying to fit in by playing Little League and mostly striking out. I was a decent shortstop though.
2) late 1977: first time ever on a skateboard. I wasn’t a “natural” but I enjoyed the rush of movement under my feet, and the freedom to practice on my own terms. I quit baseball the next season and never looked back.
